I plan to post items that are uplifting, funny, positive, thought-provoking, and hopefully enjoyable. Also, the things I post will not be religion-specific, although I do hope to post items that are spiritual in nature. I plan to post items to this blog that give me a pick-me-up that currently in this world is desperately needed. So, I encourage you to join me in Making this a Great Day!

Doubt
Doubt whom you will, but never doubt yourself.
~ Christian Bovee ~
In the book, "Some Things Never Change", Jim Moran writes the following:
"We cannot change things around us, but we can control how we feel about them. We are in situations every day where we are in the same place at the same time as someone else, but we have a completely different impression of the situation.
How can this be? It can be because all our experiences in the world are our own and we experience life through our own personal set of senses. This means that if we start to doubt ourselves, we become more susceptible to someone else's interpretation of "how things are". We lose our individuality and slip into the shadow of confusion.
We must trust ourselves, our intuition and our faith. No one else can tell us how to feel, and no one else can know how we feel. We have to take responsibility for how we react to the situations we find ourselves in and get on with it!
By doubting ourselves, we do ourselves a disservice that will eventually be our undoing. We need to take in ideas from others, of course, and view things with an open mind. But we need to have the self confidence to make decisions and take a step forward!"
Thank you, Mr. Bovee and Mr. Moran for those messages. With what we have been reading in the news lately, it is important for us to realize that we must think for ourselves and make decisions for ourselves and not just follow what someone else or a group is telling us, because we doubt ourselves. When we think for ourselves, we will realize that the philosopher Descartes was right when he wrote, "Cogito Ergo Sum" (I think, therefore I am).
This will be a great day, no doubt about it...what do YOU think?
